Should I also tell you about my weird movement and sports adventures? I played basketball and vollyball in highschool. I have run two marathons and several half marathons, I have rowed crew and played dodgeball in Portland, I have taken dance lessons and dabbled in Argentine Tango. I have had the honor of working with great coaches in town and learned some rudimentary Olympic weightlifting and done some Crossfit. I loved the aquatic classes at our community center pools, I learned to kiteboard and that was scary. I’ve been working on making movement snacks to help get us all moving well and more often. Currently I’m on a hula hooping kick! I find external tools to function almost like biofeedback and that can release our active critical mind so we don’t ‘try’ so hard and instead can freely breathe and have our movement return to play.
